Volunteer Opportunities
Yorktown places a high value on resident participation. For this reason, several boards, commissions, and committees have been created by ordinance to provide resident volunteers with channels to facilitate communication between the residents and council members.
To apply to be a member of one of Yorktown's boards, commissions, or committees, please fill out the Committees and Commissions Application linked below. Applications will be saved and reviewed as openings become available.
Currently the following volunteer boards/commissions/committees are seeking additional members:
- Advisory Board on Architecture & Community Appearance (ABACA)
- 2 members (preference for architectural engineer or architect)
- Board of Assessment Review
- 1 member
- Conservation Board
- 4 members
- Heritage Preservation Committee
- 3 members
- Tree Conservation Advisory Commission (TCAC)
- 1 chair, 1 member
- Veterans Advisory Committee
- 1 member
- Zoning Board of Appeals
- 1 alternate member
