Beginning Wednesday, December 3, 2025 have your child write a letter to Santa Claus—North Pole and place it in the SANTA’S MAILBOX located at the front entrance to Town Hall. This program is sponsored by the Town Clerk’s  Office & the Yorktown Museum. 

If your child would like a response from one of Santa’s helpers, please deliver your letter no later than Friday, December 19th and don’t forget to include your return address in your letter!

The Northern Westchester Joint Water Works Catskill Aqueduct Filter Treatment Plant has been taken offline due to a planned closure of the aqueduct by NYDEP for ongoing repairs. The Catskill Aqueduct is scheduled to be offline through December 16, 2025. All YWD residents will be receiving their water from the NWJWW's Amawalk Reservoir Treatment Plant during this period.

One is for Public Notices and one is for Meeting Agendas & Calendar Events. You will be able to choose from more options including Public Notices by department and Calendar Events by category. 

The Organic Yard Waste Facility will be closed for Thanksgiving, but open on Friday, November 28th and 29th. The last day the facility will be open this season is Saturday, December 6th.

REMINDER from the Yorktown Highway Department! OVERNIGHT PARKING RESTRICTIONS in the Town of Yorktown are now in effect. From November 20th to April 20th there is no parking on any public highway within the Town of Yorktown between 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM.

NO COLLECTIONS on Thursday, November 27th - Thanksgiving Day. Kitchen Refuse and Recycling Collections: Thursday collections will be picked up on Wednesday, November 26th. All other collections will remain the same. Reminder: All items must be placed curbside by 6AM on your scheduled collection day. 

The Yorktown Planning Board approved Toll Brothers’ proposal for a 118-unit development on Catherine Street, paving the way for the construction of an active-senior community.

Third graders from the Brookside Elementary School visited the Yorktown Water District on November 13, 2025. The students were met by Water Superintendent Paul Vasillo & Water Meter Foreperson James Waterhouse.

Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman presented his 2026 Tentative Budget today with no proposed property tax increase.
