Dog Park

Sylvan Glen Paw Park

In 2014 the Yorktown Paw Park opened in Sylvan Glen Park Preserve. The dog park is located near the Grant Avenue parking area entrance and is an approximately 1.3 acres of land fenced off within the Sylvan Glen Park Preserve. Approximately .4 acres is dedicated for small dogs and approximately .9 acres is dedicated for large dogs. The Park is open from dawn to half an hour after dusk, as all town parks. 

Paw Park Rules

To encourage safety and a positive environment for dogs and patrons please follow the rules

  1. Dogs must display a valid license and up-to-date rabies vaccinations. 
  2. Dog owners are responsible for any injuries or damage caused by their dogs.
  3. Dogs must be leashed when entering/exiting dog park social area.
  4. Dog owners must carry a leash and have dog within view and voice control. 
  5. Dogs in heat, aggressive dogs, and puppies under (4) months are prohibited.
  6. Dogs must be removed from the dog park at the first sign of aggression towards a person or dog.
  7. No more than (3) dogs per person.
  8. No choke, prong, pinch, or spike collars allowed in the dog park.
  9. All holes dug must be filled immediately.
  10. Business use of the park by professional trainers is strictly prohibited.
  11. Dog owners must immediately clean up after their dog and dispose of waste in proper receptacles.
  12. No smoking, alcohol, glass containers or food (people/animal) allowed in the dog park.
  13. Children under 15 years of age must be closely supervised by an adult.
  14. All state and local laws apply.
