Town Clerk Diana Quast
Yorktown is one of the oldest towns in Westchester County. Its deep roots are reflected in a large number of historic structures and sites that have survived the passage of time. The Yorktown Heritage Preservation Commission is composed of a minimum of 5 local volunteers appointed by the Town Board to 3 year terms. The Commission's main purpose is to assist property owners in preserving this valuable legacy for future generations and to promote Yorktown's profile as a community with a rich heritage. Numerous recent studies have indicated that historic preservation fosters local pride, creates jobs and increases property values. With the help of several talented BOCES students, the Commission created two brochures that help describe their programs.
