SPCA Dog Walk and Pet Fair Set for May 16

Calling all pet lovers! Westchester County’s biggest and most anticipated animal event is back.

The 2026 SPCA Westchester Dog Walk and Pet Fair will take over FDR State Park on Saturday, May 16, promising a day of community fun for two- and four-legged attendees.

The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and it serves as a critical fundraiser for SPCA Westchester. Participants are invited to take part in a scenic trail walk with their canine companions.

“The SPCA Westchester is a cornerstone of our community, and the annual Dog Walk at FDR State Park highlights the incredible bond between Yorktown residents and their pets,” said Supervisor Ed Lachterman. “Helping rescue animals find loving, permanent homes promotes both the animals’ welfare and our town’s spirit.”

Festivities extend beyond the path. The Pet Fair features a robust lineup of activities, including:

  • The Woof and Meowtown Vendor Village: A premier shopping destination for pet owners.
  • Entertainment & Food: Live music and a variety of local food trucks.
  • Doggy Activities: A high-energy lure course and an agility playground for pups.
  • Family Fun: Kids’ activities, live demonstrations, and much more.

For those looking to expand their families, the SPCA will have several furry adoptables on-site.

While walk-ins are welcome on the day of the fair, the SPCA encourages supporters to pre-register online. Vendor opportunities are also still available for local businesses looking to get involved.

Fees to attend: $20 per individual; $35 for a family; FREE if a registrant raises $100+ off/online; and kids 12 and under are free.
