Supervisor Ed Lachterman Named a Hudson Valley Jewish Changemaker
Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman has been selected as one of several distinguished 2026 Jewish Changemakers in the Hudson Valley.
The initiative, led by Congressman Mike Lawler’s office, invites residents across New York’s 17th Congressional District to nominate outstanding individuals who strengthen Jewish life, mentor others, lead businesses or non-profits, and make a meaningful impact through public service.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to be recognized as a Jewish Changemaker. I have always been proud of my Jewish heritage and believe we have a responsibility to remember the lessons of history and what hatred and indifference can lead to,” said Supervisor Lachterman. “As an elected official, one of my most important responsibilities is ensuring that every person I represent feels safe and is free to openly practice their faith without fear, intimidation, or hatred.”
This recognition highlights the essential role local public servants play in fostering unity and understanding across the Hudson Valley.
