Yorktown Library Hosts Three Free Outdoor Concerts in July
The John C. Hart Memorial Library will host three free summer porch concerts in July.
Mom Band will perform on July 9; mildpanic will perform on July 16; and the series concludes with River of Dreams: A Tribute to Billy Joel on July 23. The events will begin at 6 p.m. with games on the lawn and a chance for kids to meet and take photos with some of their favorite characters. Music kicks off at 6:30. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will move into the library’s community room.
“Libraries are all about bringing people together, and our summer concerts are a great example of that. We’re excited to welcome the community to enjoy live music, relax on our beautiful lawn on East Main Street in historic Shrub Oak, and spend time with friends and neighbors. Bring a pizza and you’ve got a great summer evening!” said Library Director Yvonne Cech.
Concertgoers are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner and bring along a blanket or chairs to enjoy the outdoor concerts. Ice cream will also be available for purchase.
“The library’s summer concerts are a beloved tradition because these musical performances give our residents opportunities to enjoy an activity together and deepen their connections with neighbors,” said Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman.
