Fall 2025 Hydrant Flushing Notice

The Yorktown Consolidated Water District will be flushing fire hydrants in parts of sections 6 & 7 beginning October 20, 2025 thru November 28, 2025 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you do not know what section you are in, you can look up your street by going to the following link: https://www.yorktownny.org/refuserecycling/find-my-section(link is external).  For a daily list of the streets being flushed please visit us online at www.yorktownny.org/water(link is external).

Please be advised that flushing may cause some discoloration of water. This does not represent a health hazard. However, customers are cautioned to determine if the water is clear before washing clothes (or any other processing) as staining may occur. If you experience discolored water run the cold water in all your faucets until it clears.

The Water District regrets any temporary inconvenience you may experience however, the   flushing program is necessary to maintain a good water supply for both firefighting and domestic consumption. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
