Water Service Line Insurance Mailings

The Yorktown Water District has received calls regarding Water Service Line Insurance mailings. These cards are not from the Yorktown Water District.

They are marketing mailings selling service line insurance and appear to be from a legitimate company. 

The Yorktown Water District (YWD) can neither recommend nor discourage homeowners from purchasing their products.

The YWD owns the water service line from the water main up to & including the shutoff (curb box) in your yard. The line from that shutoff to inside your home is the homeowner's private property & it is the homeowner's responsibility to repair any leaks or damage. It is very rare to have a service line repair.
