The Yorktown Police Department has begun its annual donation drive in observance of the Captain Kenneth Sgroi Act of Kindness Day. The collection drive, which accepts donations through March 16, will benefit two distinct causes: the non-profit organization United for The Troops and the DiNoia family, who lost their Yorktown home in a devastating fire.

YWD staff will be performing water system improvements to a number of homes on Hanover St. during the week of 03/09/26 - 03/13/26 between the hours of 08:30 AM - 03:00 PM.

The work may involve a temporary water service interruption to those homes. Notices were hand delivered to the affected parcels.

As a reminder, in regards to fire hydrant snow clearing Town Code (216-7) states:

Town Hall, the Hart library, and other non-essential town offices and programs are closed on Monday, February 23, due to the ongoing blizzard.

Tonight's Planning Board meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, March 2, 2026 at 7:00 PM. 

A Snow Emergency has been declared in the Town of Yorktown effective as of 6:00 PM on Sunday, Feb 22 and will remain in effect until 6:00 PM on Monday, Feb 23. Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins has also declared a State of Emergency effective Sunday, Feb 22 at 6:00 PM in anticipation of the winter storm.
