Day Camp Seasonal Employment

The Town of Yorktown offers various Summer Day Camp programs for the Town residents including Half Day, Full Day and Travel Camp. All campers enjoy a daily schedule filled with different activities including art, sports, nature, music and dance, and various special events. This is all made possible with our wonderful camp staff! Directors, Specialists and Counselors work hard to make every day fun and exciting for the campers. If interested in joining our camp staff, please complete the attached application packet in full and send to the Recreation Department located in Rooms 122 and 123 in the Albert A. Capellini Community and Cultural Center.

Eligibility: 

Half Day & Full Day Camp Applicants must be at least 16 years of age by June 29^th, 2026

Specialist Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by June 29^th, 2026

Travel Camp Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and/or high school graduate by July 6^th, 2026

Counselor Starting Rate: $17.00/hour

Specialist Starting Rate: $18.25/hour

Volunteer: Counselor-in-Training 

CIT Applicants must be 15 years of age by June 29^th, 2026

DEADLINE: Applications accepted until Friday May 8th 2026

Prospective Camp Dates/Hours for Staff: 

Half Day Program: June 29^th, 2026 - July 31^st, 2026, 8:00am-12:15pm 

Full Day Program: June 29^th, 2026 - July 31^st, 2026, 8:00am-3:15pm 

Travel Camp Program: M-Th, July 6^th, 2026 - July 30^th, 2026, 8:30am-3:15pm (times may vary due to trip schedule)

Extended Day Camp Program: Same dates as Full Day Camp, hours are from 3:00pm-6:00pm.
