Registration for Summer Programs begins March 24th, 2026 at 9:30AM
Tadpoles - Pre-Schoolers: Ages 3-4
Children learn to adjust to the water and explore safety and survival skills. For children with little to no water experience, they will be introduced to the basic concepts of swimming focusing on fun and skills like kicking and coordinated arm movements as well as submerging head and safe entry/exit. Max 10 children per session.
Sundays, June 28th to August 2nd at Brian J Slavin Aquatic Facility
Learn to Swim - Youth: Entering Grades K-8 in Fall 2026
Learning to swim promotes confidence, water awareness and is great for overall health. This program follows the Red Cross Learn to Swim classifications Level 1, 2, 3, and 4. The first class is a swim test, followed by 9 swim lesson classes. Each participant will be assigned to a 30-minute class between 9:30AM and 11:45AM according to their swimming ability after testing on the first day by the instructors.
Class are held at Brian J Slavin Aquatic Facility
Session 1: Monday-Friday, June 29th to July 10th (no class July 3rd)
Session 2: Monday-Friday, July 13th to July 24th
Session 3: Monday-Friday, July 27th to August 7th
Swim Team Prep Clinic
This program prepares young swimmers to develop the 4 competitive swim strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle) in hopes to become proficient enough to join a competitive team. Arrival time is 7:00AM, instruction begins at 7:15AM. Participants will be eligible compete in Yorktown Swim and Dive Team B-Meets.
Classes are held Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-8:00AM at Brian J Slavin Aquatic Facility
A Dates: June 29th to July 10th (no class July 3rd)
B Dates: July 13th to July 17th
C Dates: July 20th to July 24th
