Saturday Swim with Beth Kear
Location: Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School Pool
Dates: Saturdays, September 19th to November 14th (No classes October 10th)
8:00AM-9:30AM - Competitive Swim Clinic: Ages 8-17
Designed for swimmers who want to improve their competitive swimming skills, this clinic provides structured training similar to a swim team practice environment. Participants will develop technique, endurance, speed, and race-specific skills under the guidance of experienced coaches.
Swimmers newer to competitive swimming will focus on refining the four competitive strokes - butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle - while learning proper starts, turns, and race strategies. Experienced swimmers will participate in advanced workouts emphasizing conditioning, strength, speed, and competitive performance. This program is not a learn-to-swim or beginner swim lesson program.
9:40AM-10:10AM - Level 1 Swim Lessons
Ideal for children typically aged 4-6 who are ready for independent instruction without a parent in the water. This program is for beginners with little to no water experience. In a safe, supportive environment, swimmers learn foundational skills including water safety, floating, gliding, and basic arm and leg movements.
10:15AM-10:45AM - Level 2 Swim Lessons
Ideal for children who have completed Level 1 or demonstrate equivalent skills. This program is geared for swimmers who are comfortable in the water and ready to grow their confidence and independence. In this level, participants begin learning to float and glide without support, explore rhythmic breathing and develop fundamental arm and leg actions.
