Tax Exemptions

There are several property tax savings programs for which residents may be eligible, including Senior Citizens with Limited Income, exemptions for Persons with Disabilities and Limited Incomes, Veterans exemptions, and the Volunteer Firefighters/Ambulance Workers exemption. Enhanced STAR (age 65 and older)

Enhanced Star Exemption

Beginning in 2026, you will no longer need to apply for the Enhanced Star exemption with your local assessor when you turn 65. 

Senior Citizens with Limited Income Exemption

Senior Citizens with Limited Income Exemption (RP-467)

The Senior Tax Exemption (RP-467) is available to homeowners age 65 and over (must turn 65 prior to December 31, 2026).

Veterans Exemptions

There are three different property tax exemptions available to veterans who have served in the U. S. Armed Forces, including veterans who have served in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard.
