This initial Yorktown Watershed Inventory and Analysis was funded by the Hudson River Valley
Greenway Program with the intent of preparing the Town for the NYS Department of State Local
Waterfront Revitalization Program but also doing so through the lens of the five Greenway Criteria:

• Natural and Cultural Resource Protection
• Regional Planning
• Economic Development
• Public Access
• Heritage and Environmental Education

The inventory and analysis established the boundary of the Watershed Inventory Area (WIA) and provides an understanding of current conditions within the WIA. Upon advancing into the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program, this Watershed Inventory and Analysis will help prepare the future Waterfront Advisory Committee to develop recommended actions, proposed projects, and future land and water uses that help further the five Greenway criteria. Such recommendations will also help Yorktown foster economic growth, improve quality of life, and protect natural resources along its many waterfronts.
